Avispa's Corobici River Adventure

This is a birdwatchers and naturalists paradise. See Costa Rica’s legendary wildlife, flora and fauna when you board an 6-person raft for a 2-hour guided tour down the slow moving Corobicí River. (Classified I-II) While this is relaxing, keep your eyes wide open to spot some of the butterflies, otters, howler monkeys, white-faced monkeys, anteaters, coatis, iguanas, crocodiles and some of the 300 species of birds (7 different species of herons, mot-mots, egrets, kingfishers, laughing falcons, ospreys, sun grebes and parrots to name a few) that habitat the banks of the Corobicí River.

Enjoy a typical Costa Rican meal at a local resturant sitting on the Corobici River.


Departure Time: Between 8:00 Am and 1:00pm

Return Time: Approximately 5-6 hours later

Travel Time: Approximately 1 Hour, 30 minutes each way (from Playa Hermosa or Playa Del Coco)

Time on Corobicí River: Approximately 2 Hours


What to Wear: Shorts, Rubber soled shoes that can get wet (tevas, water shoes, sneakers or similar), sunglasses, and hat.

What to Bring: Swimsuit, Towel, Sunscreen, Mosquito repellent, Camera and binoculars

Recommended for: Birdwatchers, naturalist and the entire family.

INCLUDED: Private ground transportation from area hotel, English-speaking guide or driver and Corobicí River tour (consisting of 2 hour guided river float and snack on River)

NOT INCLUDED: Optional stop at Las Pumas, Lunch or beverages at Rincon Corobicí Restaurant and tips for guides/drivers.
